EFT MFT Tapping

Tapping

What is Tapping?

Tapping is a technique where you tap with your fingertips on specific points on your face and upper body while focusing on a particular emotion, thought, or problem.

Tapping combines:

  • tapping on acupuncture points
  • verbal focus statements
  • emotional exposure/reframing

The goal is to:

  • reduce emotional intensity
  • calm the nervous system
  • shift emotional responses

EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique

You:

  1. focus on a problem
  2. rate emotional intensity
  3. tap through meridian points while saying phrases
  4. repeat until emotional charge decreases

EFT is very structured and simple to learn.

MFT – Mental Field Technique

Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt developed MFT as part of his broader integrative healing system.

It combines:

  • psycho-kinesiology
  • muscle testing
  • trauma work
  • autonomic nervous system regulation
  • energy medicine
  • meridian concepts

The idea is that unresolved emotional conflicts and trauma can block healing physically and energetically.

How an MFT session works

A practitioner may:

  • use muscle testing to identify:
  • emotional conflicts
  • subconscious stressors
  • “blocked” issues

Then they may combine:

  • eye movements
  • acupressure points
  • affirmations
  • breathwork
  • nervous system regulation techniques

Sessions can be highly individualized and will be adjusted to the client’s needs
